In commemoration of the final hours that Jesus Christ spent on Earth, the Via Dolorosa (“Stations of the Cross”) depicts the main events of the cruxifiction of Christ from the time that He was condemned to die to His resurrection. The stations include the following events:

  • Jesus institutes the Eucharist
  • Jesus prays in Gethsemane
  • Jesus before the Sanhedrin
  • Jesus is scourged and crowned with thorns
  • Jesus carries the cross to Calvary
  • Jesus falls under the weight of the cross
  • Jesus is helped by Simon of Cyrene
  • Jesus meets the pious women of Jerusalem
  • Jesus is nailed on the cross
  • Jesus promises Heaven to the repentant thief
  • Jesus entrusts Mary and John to each other
  • Jesus suffers and dies on the cross
  • Jesus is taken down from the cross, and is laid in the tomb
  • Jesus rises from the dead
Station 15, in our eyes, represents the worship of His life and for what that means for ours. We are called to share His love and praise Him with our mind, soul, body and yes...voices. Our goal every week is to spread the good news and help others grow closer to Jesus Christ through worship. We normally play at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Sunday nights, but we also love to worship with other churches in Charleston or even throughout South Carolina. Please contact us if you are from another church and would like to have us come and take part in your service.
